Biography

Your webmaster thinks this is one of the most overrated records of all time, but what do I know? Anyway, Joan Jett was a Philadelphian singer and guitarist who was in The Runaways before going solo in 1978. I Love Rock 'n' Roll was originally recorded by the Arrows, but in the public imagination it will always be a Joan Jett song, even when covered by others (such as Britney Spears, who took a version into the top 20 in 2002). Follow-up "Crimson & Clover" was another cover, this time of a Tommy James and The Shondells US no1, but like James, Jett failed to take the song into the UK charts.
